(Phnom Penh): Prime Minister Hun Sen will lead a high-level delegation to pay an Official Visit to the People’s Republic of China from Jan. 20-23, at the invitation of Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of China, according to a press release of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation dated Jan. 18.
The Premier will be accompanied by Hor Nam Hong, Deputy Prime Minister, Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport, Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, and other government officials and business leaders from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.
During the visit, Prime Minister Hun Sen will call on Xi Jinping, President of China, Li Shanshu, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Congress , and Wang Yang, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and hold bilateral meeting with Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council. The talks will focus on further strengthening Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation between Cambodia and China for the benefits of the two nations. A number of documents on bilateral cooperation are expected to be signed during the visit.
In addition, Prime Minister Hun Sen will receive separate courtesy called by Minister Song Tao, Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Gu Xiulian, Chairperson of China-Cambodia Friendship Association and four business leaders from China Bank, China Road and Bridge Cooperation, Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Co. Ltd., China Huaneng Group.
While staying in China, Prime Minister Hun Sen plans to visit the Exhibition of the 40th Anniversary of the Reform and Opening-Up of China and preside over the opening session of the Cambodia-China Economic and Trade Forum 2019 and meet with Cambodian students. (SN- Lok Samret)
